Annual Review of Taxi Zone-Fare Pricing

SKYXE ANNUAL REVIEW OF TAXI ZONE-FARE PRICING

Saskatoon, SK: In January 2019, Skyxe and its licensed taxi provider released flat rate zone fares from the airport. Zone rates are designated to provide airport travelers with guaranteed and reliable flat rates for taxi trips. It offers certainty for travelers by letting them know how much their taxi fare will be in advance. It also eliminates any perception that taxi drivers may take a less efficient route to the destination to increase rates. This program is consistent with other international airports across Canada.

“Since its launch, we have been tracking the public feedback as part of our annual review process,” says CJ Dushinski, VP Business Development and Service Quality. “In addition to the data we received from our first year of operations with this initiative, we also looked at the feedback from the community to help streamline the flat rate zones and fares.”

“As of January 15, 2020, a revised flat rate zone fare map for licensed taxis will be effective,” continues Dushinski. “Customers traveling to and from the Saskatoon Airport also have the option to use the meter rate if they choose to do so upon entering the taxi.”
