United Airlines To Offer Non-Stop Daily to Chicago (ORD)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                                             March 26, 2013

United Airlines To Offer Non-Stop Daily to Chicago (ORD)

Saskatoon: United Airlines has announced they will eliminate the Regina station stop on their Saskatoon – Chicago daily United Express flight, effectively making it a non-stop flight. While United has been providing the Saskatoon community with daily service to Chicago since 2009, the flight had a scheduled station stop in Regina. The new nonstop service begins on Aug. 27, 2013.

“We are delighted with this decision by United,” states Stephen Maybury, President  & CEO at the Saskatoon Airport.  “Chicago is a critical hub for travelers to connect to United’s world-wide network. Making this a non-stop flight demonstrates the strength of our market and the confidence United has for this route.”

The daily flight schedule will be:

United and United Express operate more than 5,000 flights a day to 381 airports across six continents, and in 2012, carried more passenger traffic than any other airline in the world. United is a founding member of Star Alliance, which provides service to 194 countries via 27 member airlines.

United also offers twice-daily service from Saskatoon to its Denver hub.

The dedicated flight is welcomed, given the current strength of the Saskatoon market. Passenger volumes for 2012 were again record setting with a total of 1,326,838 passengers through our terminal, an increase of 6.5% over the previous year.  All sectors of travel experienced growth including international with an increase of 13.8%; transborder up 9.2% and our domestic market grew by 5.5 %.
