PLANNED POWER OUTAGE FOR AIRPORT
Saskatoon, SK. May 28, 2014– A planned power outage is scheduled at the Saskatoon Airport Terminal for the evening of May 28 and early morning of May 29. The outage is part of the current terminal expansion project and necessary to complete the switch over of the power grid to the new operating system.
The outage will have a major impact on operations at the Airport Terminal Building and the public parking lot. Pre-security food service will be closed at 8 p.m. on May 28 and access to the terminal building will be restricted just prior to midnight until 3 a.m. on May 29.
The outage has been scheduled when activity at the Airport is at its lowest to minimize impact to the traveling public. The transfer of the power systems is scheduled to be completed by 3 a.m. the morning of May 29 to permit the normal early morning departure activity. Phase two of the $53 million expansion is on track for completion January of 2015.
