SASKATOON JOHN G. DIEFENBAKER INTERNATIONAL WELCOMES INAUGURAL FLIGHT OF UNITED AIRLINES TWICE DAILY SASKATOON/DENVER SERVICE
Sept 2, 2008 Saskatoon, SK – The inaugural flight of United Airlines twice daily service between Saskatoon and Denver arrives Tuesday, September 2 at 12: 45 p.m. To mark the inaugural event, Canadian Consul General Dale Eisler will arrive on the flight from Denver.
The addition of this new route in the United Airlines service was announced in spring of this year. Flights will be operated by SkyWest Airlines with CRJ 200 and 700 aircraft. Notably, it is the only new service United Airlines is introducing this fall within North America.
Bill Restall, President and CEO of the Saskatoon Airport Authority comments: “We are delighted to welcome United Airlines to Saskatoon. This flight will certainly be a convenient option for travelers wishing to connect to the long list of U.S. and international destinations served by United through Denver.”
The Saskatoon Airport continues to set records for passenger traffic with over 50 consecutive months of growth. Year to date, passenger travel is up by 8.2 %.
With the announcement earlier this spring of the service Todd Brandt, Chair of the Saskatoon Air Services Group commented: “Direct air access to Denver is going to open up new markets for Saskatoon’s business and leisure travel markets. Past research demonstrated strong interest in Saskatoon and Saskatchewan from western and southwestern states including Texas and California. We are finally in a position to take advantage of this interest, thanks in no small part to our surging economy.”
The twice daily service between Denver will be operated by SkyWest Airlines on the following schedule:
