COVID-19 Testing Travel Notices

  • All travellers 12 years of age plus 4 months, or older, will need to be fully vaccinated in order to board a flight in Canada, but there is no testing requirement for domestic travel between provinces within Canada.

Arriving into Canada:

  • All travellers 5 years of age or older, regardless of citizenship or vaccination status, must provide proof of a COVID-19 negative molecular test (PCR) result taken within 72 hours of a scheduled flight to enter Canada OR proof of a previous positive test result taken between 14 and 180 days. Click here to learn more.
    • If returning to Canada from the US, Canadians have found an affordable option, with select U.S. clinics and pharmacies offering free molecular tests through a government-funded program across all states. However, they stress that planning ahead is necessary to obtain these tests for free.
Leaving Canada:
  • Entering the United States: As of December 6, 2021, the US requires all air passengers age two and over to present a negative viral COVID test (NAAT or antigen) taken within 24 hours of departure or proof of recovery within the last 90 days. Click here to learn more.
    • A recent announcement from the State of Hawaii is making travel to the beloved state a bit easier, supporting COVID entry testing of either NAAT OR antigen. Click here to learn more.
  • Currently, international sun destinations from Saskatoon with Sunwing do not require a COVID test upon entry.
